To Set up a Gmail Account

Go to the Gmail Create a new account page.
Fill in the First Name, Last Name and Desired Log In Name blanks. Your first and last name must be your legal names. Your desired log in name must be school appropriate. The most simple option is to use some combination of your real first and last names for your log in name.
Choose a Password: This should be something that you can easily remember but would be hard for someone to guess. You’ll have to type it in twice, exactly the same.
Consider whether or not you want to uncheck the Remember me on this Computer and the Enable Web History boxes. Neither of these options are too harmful but think about it, don’t select the default setting automatically.
In the Security Question Box, select a question or write your own. If you write your own question, make sure the answer isn’t something someone could easily guess. Type the answer to the question in the Answer box. You will need to remember the answer exactly as you type it in. I always type in lowercase so that I don’t have to try and remember if I capitalized proper names, etc….
Type in your existing email address in the Secondary email box. If you forget your username or password, and you remember the answer to your security question, Gmail will send a link to this email address so that you can get back into your Gmail account. However, I highly recommend that you WRITE ALL YOUR INFORMATION DOWN somewhere.
The default location should already be set to Canada.
You’ll have to type in the letters of the wonky word as you see them. Don’t worry if you don’t get it right the first time, you’ll get a second chance (like most things in life).
Finally, read the terms of service and click the button I Accept Create my Account.
You’re done!
